WRMC is experimenting with video recordings and has not yet decided how those will be utilized. The core objective of the Wilderness Risk Management Conference (WRMC) is to offer an outstanding educational experience to help you mitigate the risks inherent in exploring, working, teaching, and recreating in wild places. The WRMC is a collaboration between NOLS, Outward Bound USA, and the Student Conservation Association, in partnership with the WRMC Steering Committee. See the guiding purpose and tenets.
How do you and your organization assess the risk tolerance of your clients to create an inclusive and culturally welcoming experience that celebrates awareness and examination of peoples differences in risk, risk tolerance and awareness? How do you manage risk based on a risk tolerance assessment? Is your organization's risk tolerance aligned from the board/ leadership all the way to the field staff and students? We will examine and discuss specific ways to assess you organization's risk tolerance as well as assessing your clients varying levels of risk tolerance to help design trainings and courses.
